Grass and Woodlands The surrounding area around the city of Ravnglade is not wild. In fact, one would be hard to travel through it without coming across numerous homes or privately owned land. This, combined with the fact that Ravnglade is not far from Haven Valley (a land full of sprites and other faefolk) means that even in the most secluded of areas chances are someone or something else is there as well. That being said, the woodlands are lush and full of life. The manors and cottages that surround Ravnglade are generally well kept and mostly occupied. Hot Springs Following a trail
from town to the northwest, one might discover the spoken of hot springs
of Ravnglade. This secluded area is warmed by a volcanic seam that
drifts up near the surface. Add a pretty stream and craters caused
by dislodged boulders, and the people of Ravnglade have quite a wondrous
attraction. |

Lower and Middle Class Homes Much nicer area of town. |

Upper Class Homes The area of town where the rich reside cannot be defined within one block. This is because most of these homes can own an amount of land. Homes start near town, and continue westward, toward Haven Valley. These homes belong to the cream of the crop, and as such are as diverse and exquisite as can be built by human hands. The older mansions are built like keeps in themselves, with thick stone walls and few windows. Newer buildings have taken on many styles, brought about by the numerous cultures that are always being brought into the world by the Mystic Storm. Regardless of the style of building, all are large, grandiose, and expensive. Of note: |

White Sands Beach This stretch of land along the northern edge of the Mainland is a lovely beach compromised of a light gray-blue sand, remains of the dark limestone from the islands within the Sea of the Serpent. The area that is a brighter shade of yellow is the Sands of Sorrow. Sands of Sorrow The deep blue water swishes as it gently folds against the light sand. Lush woods are not far away, and the chirrups of birds and animals can be heard emanating from within the warm darkness. To the east, the beach becomes rocky, and eventually leads up to a tall cliff that shoots outward like a spear into the welcoming water. Here the surf crashes against the dark rocks, which are jagged from the constant bombardment. There are legends of why this beautiful beach was named the Sands of Sorrow. Most have to do with a woman that tossed herself off the cliff. Others have been about a family of sea elves that sacrificed themselves to save their tribe. The legends are as numerous as the grains of sand under your feet. Regardless, the dark beauty of this cove is enough to calm the senses and warm the heart. |
