• Nhudri – Black skinned, masters of war. The Nhudri tend towards muscled, armoured and armed warriors, both male and female. These are the ones called upon by the council to take part in the hunt and cull the werewolves every so often.
• Hellenics – Truth is beauty, beauty is truth. The most beauteous of the clans, all of their members are stunning to behold. Mortals can only dream of their looks as they use magical arts to enhance them. Most of the art, song and architecture is made and designed by the Hellenics. • Gothric – Dark aristocrats. Flowing black longcoats, silk shirts, high leg boots, the other clans view them as a waste of space, yet their administrative skills keep the city from descending into turmoil. These are the ones who oversee the “lesser” numbers, ensuring they do not get too many or too few. • Danska – Another warrior caste, but one that concentrates on personal protection. Bodyguards, security and fortification experts, the Danska are privileged to be considered outside inter clan politics as they have proven over the centuries to be able to stand beside any member of the clans as security and not get involved in internal disputes, merely providing protection to whoever has hired them. • Gyptium – In a city infested by wraiths, it has been essential to converse with them over the years. The Gyptium have studied for years, finding the best way to converse with the haunting dead. Of course, as the clans further their existence by killing and draining the human populous of the city, the number of wraiths are on the increase... • Cantonis – The lorekeepers. Not judges... that is for the internal politics of the clans or the council to decide... They are great historians and are often called upon to cite precedences in city and clan law and provide insight based on past events to the Prince. • Achen – The Achen are the lowest clan. The youngest and the weakest. This is probably due to the curse set upon the bloodline many years ago. The members are shrivelled, sickly creatures, yet constantly manage to survive... maybe it’s through their famed wit... or perhaps it’s the rumours of the rituals performed in the basements of their run-down homes. • Xanolos – The strangest of all the clans, shrouded in mystery as much as their hooded robes, the Xanolos keep most of their attentions outside the city. Keeping their eyes on the elves, dwarves and other creatures under slavery out in the wilds. Rarely seen in daylight, they do venture out on occasion, protected by their robes, reputed to be magically enhanced to resist the sun’s rays for short periods of time... but so far, never an entire dawn to dusk, regardless of the time of year. |

Creating a Vampire
Vampires must be a member of one of the clans and be created accordingly. If the vampire is NOT of one of the clans, he/she will be treated with suspicion until accepted into a clan. No vampire is allowed to remain within the city for more than a month without at least a letter of marque from one of the clans. Vampires also have a *Blood* rating in addition to their three normal stats. This rating defines their ability to use their vampiric powers (examples are – shapechanging, superhuman strength or speed, the ability to regenerate wounds not made by magic, sunlight or blessed items. This list is not exhaustive) Vampires CANNOT exist in direct sunlight (Unless clothed in a Xanolos cloak) and are burned severely, dying in seconds to minutes depending on the strength of the sunlight. The burns received cannot be regenerated and may only be healed with rest. Vampires can still be harmed by normal weapons, but most have the ability to regenerate such wounds almost instantly. Wounds made by magic or blessed weapons cannot be regenerated in this way except by rest and lots of it. Severing a vampire’s head will kill it, as will a stake through the heart as it sleeps. |
