History: The Folkshires are unique in their development because of the magic that surrounds the city. When Draelond first started developing, those of the magical assortment created their own city and coalition in order to feel protected and secure. However, different factions within the initial group could not decide on goals or city arrangement, leadership, or their allegian with the rest of the River Cities. Instead, Upper Folkshire became the head of one faction, those divided from Draelond, and Lower Folkshire became the head of the other faction, in support of the Union of Draelond. After many years and continuous political squabbles back and forth between the Folkshires, a peace agreement was reached through the patience of Lower Folkshire and Aneia's determination. Both cities had always been walled off, completely encompassing their interior, but with the peace treaty formed, the two cities worked to build a gigantic stone bridge which connected the two cities. From river's surface, it is 215 feet to the base of the stone bridge; across, the bridge can fit 30 small homes; in length, the stone arch is only about a mile. As a result of this connection, the wealthiest have built their homes on the bridge, which also has several streets for organization and access. The homes, though not very wide, are tall and multi storied. As of now the two cities are governed by a group of Elders, three from each city.
