Name: Issira
Leaders: First Claw Mardik and King Shroth Type: Monarchy Capital: Issira Location: One thousand miles to the Southeast of Dragon Isle and a mile beneath the surface of the Raging Waters. Monetary unit: Gold, Gems and magical items. Ethnicity/Race: Primarily Sahuagin, with a few Malenti mutants. The Sahuagin are a bipedal aquatic species that look like they're descended from some ancient shark creature. Malenti are mutant sahuagin, that are born looking identical to Sea Elves and are used primarily as spies in Sea Elven cities. Language: Sahuagin. Religion: The Sahuagin revere and sacrifice daily to Sekolah, Shark of the Stygian Sea. Climate: There are no climates, exactly, beneath the waves, however local volcanic activity can and has changed sea currents and caused much havoc as of late. Resources: Pearls and plunder from sunken craft. Flora and Fauna: The city is surrounded by sea kelp forests that hide the city from all points of view except directly above. These forests are liberally seeded with Kelpie beasts that enchant and drown any surface creatures that wander down from the surface. Sharks and Dire Sharks fill the dark waters around the city, feeding on the numerous daily sacrifices to Sekolah. The many schools of fish within the shallows also feed the city. Known Dangers: The Sahuagin patrol the seas around the city for any dangerous humanoids and regularly raid coastal cities for sacrifices and food. The Sea-devils, as they are known, have an empathic link to sharks and Dire Sharks, calling on them for aid, often. And there is also the inherent dangers that live and hunt in the deep. History: The Sahuagin are an old and proud race that have warred with the Sea Elves for much of their history. Issira was founded and built on this warrior past and their reverence for Sekolah, their Shark-god. However, since their recent relocation from their old homeworld to Rosha, they find themselves without a worthy enemy to vent their bloodlust on. Too far from any of the other aquatic cities, and unable to wage war on surface cites, they are quickly turning on each other. Civil war is brewing in the city of the Sea-Devils, with the clergy on one hand the King and his Court on the other. Both believe that only the sacrifice of the other side to Sekolah can return them to their old home. |
