Weapons & Armor: Heavy leather, although he usually wears ponderous robes over it. His weapon of choice is a mace, and when performing his 'official functions' he carries a metal-shod staff with a heavy, spiked metal head that separates halfway down the handle when twisted, turning the top into a mace and the bottom into a club. Special Attacks: Zurtag combines clerical magic with psionics to confuse and disorient his opponent, particularly a mingled psionic mind-spray and magical color-spray in unison. However, this is most effective against a single opponent, due to the limited physical range of the duality. Special Defenses: Resistant to poison and charm. Becoming a novitiate of Bargrivyek at a young age, Zurtag used a natural, subtle cunning to set the other novices against each other and goad them into conflict, while he himself reaped the lion's share of instruction by flattering and fawning over the goblin priests. He excelled at magic craft, and by careful experimentation (usually on opponents for rank) learned to combine that skill with his clerical powers. In addition, he trained diligently in physical combat, and used the nearly unheard-of skill in all three pursuits to win, by wit and arms, the chieftainship of Blonauch. |
