A necklace of silver and pearl encircles the pale column of her throat, and he skin is ivory-white. A green cord wrapped around her waist is weighted on either end by small pouches, which hold various flower-seeds that she strews whenever she finds a place suited to the growing of flowers, particularly orchids and poppies. HISTORY

Ousaya was the daughter of a well-to-do minor merchant Lord and his Lady, living on a country estate near Farhmore. Even as a young child, she had an affinity and love for flowering plants, and would spend every moment spared from her tutors caring for her own little garden and plants. To cement an alliance with another merchant, her father betrothed her to the merchant's brother, a young mage with promising potential to become a great spell-crafter in time. At first, this betrothal meant little to the young woman, who had never expected to choose her own husband. And the mage was both young and pleasing to look upon, so she was satisfied with the arrangement. However, she found just how unsuited the match was after they were wedded - indeed, until that day they had never even spoken to each other, the mage satisfied to have an attractive betrothed who he didn't have to waste time courting, the girl pleased to have a match with such potential. But the mages area's of study were of fire and transformation, and he would permit no spot of green growth within the grounds of his home. For Ousaya, this was unacceptable and unthinkable, but she had little say in the matter. Often and vehemently she argued with her husband on the subject, she demanding he let her grow a garden, he refusing to permit any such thing. But never once did he explain the reason behind this refusal; He felt that she, as his wife, should simply accept his word as law. In truth his abhorrence of vegetation stemmed from the powers of his greatest rival, a mage specializing in magics of the earth and plants. Unbeknownst to Ousaya's husband, she cultivated a tiny garden of orchids and poppies, hidden away in a back chamber of their home, a place he little remembered let alone visited. And this was the mage's downfall, for the spies of his rival found the chamber before he. And in the space of a single night, simple orchids and poppies were changed, warped beyond anything natural by twisted magic. By the next morning, thorned vines had slithered and crawled throughout the entire house, and the master of the house woke to the cries of fear from his wife, but had time for only one spell before he was literally torn apart by the spell-warped vines. Yet this one spell was not directed at the rival mage. Instead, it was cast upon his Lady Wife, for what he saw as her betrayal of him. By day, she wanders the Rainbow Woods, clad in the colors of the orchids she loved so well. By night those colors become her own, as she is changed into an exquisitely lovely night-blooming flower. She has little memory of the woman she once was, but merely lives each day in search of seeds to plant, and places to plant them. She has a natural skill with spells of charm, misdirection and distraction. She uses these spells only to protect herself.
