Matteus is highly adept at using his broadsword (8) while in his full-plate armor. He is also capable of using a crossbow, but is not as proficient (14) with the weapon. Additionally, he finds the ranged-combat nature of the weapon to be somewhat distasteful. Said armor is of a gleaming white finish, and he polishes it often. It is not enchanted, but it will stand up to many fierce blows. His helmet is winged as an adornment, though he only wears it perhaps half the time he ought to, as it still offers ample protection. His broadsword is heavily enchanted to be superior to in strength than Matteus's enemies.. The weapon itself is not actually holy - as such, Matteus can still wield it, though he believes it is holy - but does greater and more dire damage to undead. It is enchanted to be sharper on the whole, as well. It's most impressive enchantment, however, is undoubtedly the flames that leap from the blade whenever it is free of its sheath. This wreath of fire does addition firey damage to whomever is stricken by the weapon. The flame enchantment upon the weapon can be lowered at any time by Matteus when he is concious. Matteus's shield was created with his sword, a set, if you will. It too, while not actually holy, will rebuke the undead to a certain point, and is enchanted to protect Matteus from fire with greater strength than a plain steel shield. Finally, Matteus has a holy symbol that could send risen undead creatures back to whence they came, but unfortunately, as Matteus is no longer a paladin - regardless of how he may act, or whatever he might say - it will no longer function for him, as he worships no diety any longer - another thing he will deny.
