Description:
The general Alexios stands at an inch over six feet, by no means the tallest man around. However, the way he carries himself makes him seem a giant even when in the midst of more prominent people. For a man in perhaps his mid to late-thirties, with defined muscles and broad shoulders, he would be considered handsome; certainly such a fact was doubtless in his earlier years. He has unkempt curling brownish-gold hair that is cropped somewhat close to his head, a day's growth of beard upon his chin, and melancholy amber eyes that gleam with both hints of humility and pride. He wears a simple grey tunic and braccae underneath a lacquered muscle cuirass of polished bronze, armor reminiscent of his home of Luccina. Thin layered strips of leather hang from both the shoulders and waist of this armor, creating skirts around the arms and legs that add further protection; hanging from his belt is a mastercrafted shortsword. On his feet are simple sandals, while his shins are protected by bronze half-greaves that end an inch or two below the knee. His entire body is framed by the red cloak of a senior officer of the Eelian Legions. Strapped to his back, over this outfit, is a massive quiver holding half a dozen iron-tipped javelins. In his armor he seems an imposing, almost godlike figure. Without his battle garb he seems more nondescript, but still somewhat striking, even when in a crowd.
Class:
Alexios, as general of the Legions of Eelia, is a member of the ruling class of the realm. However, he was not born into the class, nor does he have any close relatives that occupy positions of such prominence in society. As a true testament to Luccinan customs even in Eelia, the general's social status is one that has been thoroughly earned not through inheritance, but through his actions and achievements in life. He was born into a family of servants but over four decades has single-handedly worked his way up the chain of command to the very top.
Personality:
Lucios Alexios, throughout his entire life, had always been a quiet and reserved person, speaking in hushed tones and waiting patiently for the world to pass him by before he prematurely acted. Though it might seem outdated and trivial, he's kept with him a sense of honor and dignity matched by no other; his life for the most part was governed by his own set of morals. Still, he has and often does show flashes of his stubborn pride, a byproduct of Luccinan society's superiority complex. And like how many people have many facets to their personality, the general is no different. When his place is on the battlefield he transforms into a strong, confident commander who speaks with absolute authority and acts to match. His voice can carry for leagues, over the din of pain and battle, to reach the ears of all the soldiers who serve under him. Until the loss of those closest to him, he could be considered a devoutly devoted family man.
Companions:
The general is almost always followed by his honor guard, four soldiers who personally guard him. Among them is Septus, a young but eager Eelian Legionaire. Surrounding the young man are three older soldiers, former Luccinan Unbreakables that are among the most proficient in the arts of war, men that had served under Alexios as far back as his days in Luccina. Their names are Athamus, Hypatos and Ophelos.

Steeds:
Although Alexios prefers to travel by foot, he does own one single horse: a gray-black steed by the name of Argento. On occasion, Argento is called upon to bear the general into battle. On other occasions, he is among the horses drawing the general's chariot. Most often the horse is allowed the freedom to roam around Alexios' owned lands, trained and kept healthy and athletic by his trusted stablehands.
Pets:
Alexios is master of a single animal, a dust-colored hound he arbitrarily calls Sand. The dog has a storied history before he was claimed on the battlefield by a victorious general Alexios, some years ago out on the plains of Luccina. Now, Sand mostly keeps quarters among the soldiers of Fort Ryan, where he is affectionately known as the Luccinan Lion, after the nickname of his master.
Miscellaneous Information:
-His preferred drink is water. He refuses to drink wine or any other such beverage.
-Alexios is allergic to nuts.
-Although his is ambidextrous in the use of weaponry, he primarily uses his left hand.
-Born on the thirteenth day of the Festival of Ithmius, a favorable omen.
-His blonde hair is a rarity in Eelia. Although popular misconception is that such light hair is common among Luccinans, the truth is it is also rare there.
-He is a lover of citrus fruits, particularly oranges.
- Though the city of Alexia, the second largest city in the Empire, was named after him, the general has stepped foot within its walls only once. If asked he would remark that the statue of him outside the city gates (of which he disapproves) bears nothing of his likeness.
-Alexios owned a modest domus within the Imperial City itself, nestled in the Highlands, before the great fire gutted it. As well, a self-sufficient villa (a work in progress) on a large patch of undeveloped land some miles from Amedea all are under his name. Regardless, he still spends many nights camped with the Legion or at their headquarters.
